APRIL
HOSPITAL DIRECTOR, OWNER

In the field since: 2003

Owned by Soldier, a vast wild thing found roaming the woods and a pet momma to many furbaby angels.

What I love most about what I do:  The Pets, The Clients, Our Team! The Pets: I've got a soft spot for the big dogs. I also love working with dogs that may be scared or act aggressive when coming to the vet's office - with the proper handling, it is rewarding to watch them learn to trust us. I love educating people on the importance of preventative medicine. So much of the heartache could have been prevented, but people did not have the information they needed. The Clients: I like working with people in challenging situations to find the best solution. I love getting to know the people that come through our doors! We have some of the most fascinating and heartwarming clients, and I have immensely enjoyed getting to know everyone over the last decade (it is hard to believe Davis is already 10!). Our Team: As we get ready to open up a new facility that I have poured my heart into the last few years, I am brimming with excitement for what we are going to be able to offer not only the pets and people of Pensacola but also what we are going to be able to do for our team. Our team is comprised of huge-hearted individuals who give everything they have to this profession. This new, larger facility is designed to provide my team with a place to practice medicine to its fullest, with many bonus features designed just for them. I am so proud and humbled to lead them, and I hope I can continue to improve and enrich their lives as they have done for me.

Who I am when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital: a New Hampshire native, a fun-loving wife, and a mom to two kids. I love camping, gardening, paddleboarding, riding horses, goofing off, and spending time with my family. Together, we enjoy the outdoors and traveling to find new adventures. We love our church, the beach, watersports, hiking, and visiting with our widespread family. I'm an avid fitness geek passionate about the Davis Fitness Challenge we sponsor for our staff each year (no excuses this year - our new facility has a staff fitness center!)

You would be surprised to know that: Coffee runs in my veins. You could win me over pretty easily with Mexican food and ice cream. I've taken up a unique hobby of trying to rear queen bees with a VSH trait to increase the health of our hives. I love opossums and the color teal. I have more photos of my dog on my phone than anything else. I am more afraid of a kitten acting mean than a 180-pound snarling Rottie!

SAVANNAH
HOSPITAL MANAGER

In the field since: 2016

Owned by: A small zoo! I own six dogs and two cats.

What I love most about what I do: I enjoy meeting new people and their furry friends. My favorite part of the job is seeing someone add a new puppy/kitten to the family and watching that pet grow with them (and us!). I love being a part of our clients’ lives, celebrating the milestones, and being there for them in the more challenging times. My goal is always to maintain a 5-star experience for you, work through any problems to the best of my ability, and be available for my team whenever needed.

Who I am when I'm not at Davis Animal Hospital: I am a wife and mother. I enjoy reading most genres of books. There is no greater feeling than a physical book in your hands or spending hours in a bookstore! I enjoy family dinners and gatherings. Days spent at home with no agenda are good for the soul. I love rainy days.

You would be surprised to know that:  I believe chocolate and mint do not go together. I am older than I appear. I would love to own a farm; highland cows would be my first addition. I have a strange love for cleaning. I enjoy the satisfaction of making something that is dirty and clean again.

Human Resources

In the field since:
1995

Owned by
Dr. Jones, a 12-year-old, very handsome, super affectionate street cat, my office mate, and a black-and-white 4-year-old kitty.

What I love about what I do most: After almost 30 years working in the industry, from kennel assistant in high school to farm hand at the University of Rhode Island to practice manager at an excellent facility for many years, I love being at Davis to support our team the most. People in the animal industry are the most amazing, kind, and resilient people, and I’m honored to be a part of this team and be the best resource I can for them.

Who I am when I am not at Davis Animal Hospital: I am a wife, mother, and avid outdoorswoman. When I am not working or reading, I’m hiking, swimming, skiing, golfing, or working on my home with my husband.

You Would be surprised to know that: I'm totally into construction projects and power tools but terrible at gardening. I live in New Hampshire and absolutely love the cold and everything winter! My entire family goes alpine skiing every possible day. I require lots of sunscreen and shade when I am in Pensacola.
