Veterinary House Calls

Our staff understands how difficult it can be to bring your pet to the veterinarian. We want to be able to help get the veterinary care your pet needs to you.
Our house calls can benefit pets who do not travel well in cars, cannot come to us due to automobile issues, or for hospice and end-of-life care.

House Calls- Pet Euthanasia: Saying Goodbye To Your Beloved Pet

If you've been consistently scouring the web about "house calls for pet euthanasia," we know how challenging this decision is for you. Saying goodbye to your companion animal is heartbreaking. As a pet parent, you must make certain decisions, even if it means letting your fur baby go. Emotions are high, and you may experience guilt, uncertainties, and grief. So, when is the right time to call for a house call? When can you say that pet euthanasia is an option for your pet? Here is a good article that may help you better decide when to say farewell.

Often, families debate whether to make that decision. We understand how devastating it is for you, so here are some situations to help you during these tough times.

Debilitating conditions caused by disease, aging, and irreversible conditions are some of the most common reasons pet parents decide to euthanize their pets. They believe it's time to help their fur babies, making them suffer less. It is important to note that this doesn't apply to all situations. Consult with your veterinarian to see whether there are other options before taking this road. If there are still possible ways to improve your situation, pet euthanasia should be the last option.

If you're not comfortable doing this in the clinic, we can perform house calls for pet euthanasia. This often takes an emotional toll, and we completely understand if you want this to be done within your home. Some people want to say goodbye and have all the family members be there during their pet's final moments.

House calls for pet euthanasia are something that should be carefully thought of. Never make assumptions about your pet's condition without seeking advice from one of our veterinarians. Rest assured, if you decide to perform euthanasia, our vets are with you, helping you get through this challenging time in your life.

How to prepare

Call us at 850-479-9484 to schedule a house call. We will get your information, confirm that your address is correct, and give you a tentative date and approximate timeframe for our arrival. If you haven't been here, we will send you a link to fill out new client/patient paperwork that must be completed before your exam is confirmed.

We will discuss your visit with the veterinarian performing the house call to determine what they require. Once we have confirmed with them, we will contact you to confirm your appointment.

When we call you back to confirm, we will require a prepayment to hold your appointment spot. Please call us no later than 48 hours to reschedule your appointment to avoid a nonrefundable prepayment charge.

On the day of the house call, we will call you when we are leaving our facility. When we come to your home, we ask that your pet be ready for us to examine in a room that they cannot run out of. If you need to put your cat in a carrier or your dog on a leash, please do so.

If you have other pets, we ask that they be put in a separate room away from the pet we will be examining. This is for their safety as well as for the safety of our staff. If you request a pet to be with the one being examined, please let us know so we can instruct you on what to do. If our veterinarian is unable to examine your pet without the other pet interfering, we will have you put them out of the way.

After our visit, if there are any additional medications or charges, we will have you pay for those over the phone and stop by the office to pick up any therapies the doctor prescribed.

Routine Visits

We can perform basic routine visits like vaccinations, draw blood, take samples to be processed in the clinic, and perform physical examinations. However, we are unable to perform radiographs (X-rays), ultrasounds, or surgery in your home.

Hospice Care

We can come to your home to examine your pet if it is unable to travel comfortably. We will provide instructions on how to make their examination more comfortable when we arrive.
