1.  Take a current photo of your pet.  Keep their collar on with identification tags.  Get your pet Microchipped.  Microchipping can save your pet's life!  More pets go missing on July 4th more than any other time of the year due to noisy fireworks.

2.  Keep your pet indoors.  If you are not going to be home, keep them in a crate or a room that they cannot hurt themselves in.

3.  Drown the noise.  Keep on a television or radio to help drown out the sounds of fireworks.

4.  Make them feel safe.  Act normally.  Talk in soothing voices.  You can also purchase a Thundershirt, Adaptil, and Feliway to help with their anxiety.   Come by to pick some up today!

5. Make sure to keep them away from people food from grilling, BBQs, and get-togethers.  Eating food that they are not used to can cause pancreatitis and some things contain toxins that can make your pet sick or die.

Enjoy your festivities, but please remember to be a responsible pet owner first.  Our furry friends don't understand what is going on and this day can be truly frightening!

Sometimes medication can be prescribed as well to help with their anxiety.  Call us today to discuss and set up an appointment.  850-479-9484
